"Data Challenge" at the Department of Mathematics

On 30 April 2024, the final presentation of the project group "Measurement data ICE wastewater pumps" took place at the Technical University of Berlin. Anna Barkova, Daniel Houben and Henriette von Helmolt are studying for a Master's degree in mathematics and presented the results of their work in the winter semester 2023/24.

The anonymised pump data was analysed using R and Python. The time series were segmented with the help of changepoint detection, whereby the resulting segments can be assigned to the pump states that occur. Here is an excerpt from the extensive elaboration:

The collaboration with BeST and Tech22 goes back to a course at TU Berlin in cooperation with the Werner-von-Siemens Centre for Industry and Science (WvSC) e.V.

Prof Hanno Gottschalk teaches in the Department of Mathematics at the TU Berlin and works closely with the WvSC e.V.
